Hello,

How is everyone feeling now the sun’s finally shining and spring is in the air? I thought I’d do a little spring edit for you this Sunday, all about how to bring a touch of the new season into your home through the five senses.

Smell

Scent is such a huge part of how a home feels. It’s the first thing that hits you when you walk into a room, before you even notice the furnishings or the music playing. A soft floral or slightly sweet fragrance instantly brightens the space and makes it feel more lived-in and loved.

I’ve been obsessing over a few candles lately, the kind that make you stop and say, ohhh that smells like spring.

I have to mention this matchstick sleeve from Matilda Goad. If you’re a candle person and want something a bit indulgent, it’s such a chic little detail. It’s been on my wishlist forever and that fish design makes me smile every time I see it.

And scent isn’t just about candles. Think about your everyday things too, like your hand soap or cleaning spray. I’m obsessed with the hand soap from Commune and every day sprays from Purdey & Figg. I was late to discovering Purdey & Figg but oh my god, the natural scents, no chemicals, kind to kids, they somehow make tidying up feel like a treat.

Sight

Spring is all about light, so this section had to focus on lighting.

These butter-yellow lamps from West Wing are divine. That soft, sunny colour casts the warmest glow and feels so timeless. And Plank Hardware x Good Bones have created the most brilliant perforated lamp shades, the way the light dapples across the room feels so special and atmospheric.

For something bolder, there’s this sculptural statement lamp I’ve had on my wishlist forever. It’s definitely an investment, but the green tone and almost-botanical design are so perfect for spring.

Touch

For touch, I’ve been thinking about little tactile joys, the pieces you use every day without really noticing them.

First up, this cutlery set from Late Afternoon. The blue and yellow colourways just make me smile. It’s such an easy way to bring colour into your home without committing to a bold colour on your walls.

Then, how cute are these napkins with the ladies in swimming costumes? They instantly make me think of summer.

I also love the Loaf wool cushion in olive green. The colour’s popping up everywhere in fashion and interiors right now. If you’re toying with it as a potential wall shade, this is a lovely way to try it first.

And a little shout for stainless steel. I’m loving small touches of it around the home. This tray is gorgeous for the bathroom or bedroom, perfect for perfume bottles, jewellery, or skincare bits.

Sound

Sound is one of those details that makes a home feel alive.

I always laugh when we all spend ages perfecting the paint, furniture, and candle scents, but forget the music. It’s what brings the whole mood together. Soho House do this brilliantly; every room has its own energy, and the soundtrack sets the tone.

I’ve forever been loyal to Roberts radios. We’ve got one in the kitchen and a smaller one by the bed. They come in so many beautiful colours, such an effortless blend of design and nostalgia.

Taste

And finally, taste, arguably the best bit.

I’ve been loving stainless steel ice cream cups lately. They make even a scoop of vanilla feel fancy, but also work beautifully for fruit, chocolate mousse, or yoghurt.

These enamel baking trays are perfect for the season too. Spring means BBQs and garden suppers, and these can go straight from oven to table, no faff.

And salad season is officially back! I found this divine brand in my friend’s farm shop. Their dressings are very Ottolenghi. If you love those punchy, interesting flavours, these three are my favourites right now.

And how fun are these checked napkins? Even if it’s still barely 12 degrees, we’re out there, BBQing  with hotdogs and Aperols. Add these colourful spring straws and you’ve got instant sunshine energy at the table.

Hope you loved this little sensory spring edit, just a few things helping me feel lighter and brighter this season.

Have a lovely Sunday, whatever you’re up to.

Tash x
