Hello,

I can’t quite believe I’m writing the final newsletter of the year. Where has the time gone?

It feels like yesterday that I planning to launch Room Service, and now, somehow, a whole year has flown by. Whether you’ve been here from the beginning or have just discovered this little colourful corner of the internet, thank you so much for being here. Your messages, your questions, and your love for colour have made this space feel so special.

I hope you’re winding down now, whatever your plans are for the holidays, whether the next few weeks involve family chaos, long countryside walks, or a blissful home reset with a glass of something festive in hand. You’ve certainly earned it.

Before I sign off for Christmas, I wanted to take a little look back at some of the posts you loved most this year, the ones that sparked the biggest conversations and got you thinking differently about colour, light, and home.

Two paint techniques for confident colour

One of my most-read pieces, we explored two of my favourite decorating techniques that help you transform your home without fear. Discover colour capping and colour drenching, this one’s full of practical ideas that make brave colour feel beautifully balanced.

The secret to decorating rooms with no natural light

A topic so many of you messaged me about! I shared the mindset (and the tones) that turn dark corners of your home into cosy, characterful spaces.

Is your home ever really finished?

This one struck a chord. It’s a little love letter to the ever-changing nature of our homes, a reminder that they’re meant to evolve with us, not be ticked off like a checklist. One for anyone who still has a paint brush tucked behind the sofa.

Living inside a painting: the house that changed how I look at art

A personal favourite. I visited this home at the start of December and it’s so drenched in colour and creativity that it completely reframed how I think about art on walls. It’s a read for anyone who wants to bring more emotion (and less perfection) into their decorating.

Find your perfect colour harmony with the 60:30:10 rule

An evergreen classic! We broke down how to balance colour like a designer using one dominant, one supportive, and one accent tone so your home always feels cohesive, no matter how many shades you love.

Why blue is everyone’s favourite (and how to make it yours)

I couldn’t resist slipping a 6th post, because it’s one of my personal favourites. Blue is the colour so many of you ask about, and this piece dives into why we’re all so drawn to it, plus how to choose the right blue for your mood, your light and the atmosphere you want to create at home.

As I look ahead to 2026, I’m making one small change: from January, you’ll be hearing from me fortnightly instead of weekly. It’s a little tweak that’ll help me balance my projects, consultations, and family life, while still giving each email all the attention (and love) it deserves.

Thank you again for being part of this community. Here’s to a restful Christmas, a beautifully colourful New Year, and another year of creating your dream homes.

With love,
Tash x

Ps. I will be launching my new course very soon, so watch this space. If you can’t wait, why not sign up for my Living Room course.
